Park City Snowboard Team Fundraiser
Park City Live, 427 Main St., will host a Park City Snowboard Team fundraiser on Wednesday, Feb. 26, beginning at 8 p.m. Live music will be performed by the Patwa Reggae Band. Tickets are $10 and all proceeds will benefit the snowboard team. For more information, visit http://www.parkcitylive.net.
Book Discussion and film screening: ‘Prince Among Slaves’
The Park City Library, 1255 Park Ave., will hold a book discussion about Terry Alford’s "Prince Among Slaves" on Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. It will also host a free screening of the documentary in the Library’s Jim Santy Auditorium on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m. The book, published in 2007, is about Abd al Rahman Ibrahima, a Muslim slave who, in 1807, was recognized by an Irish ship’s surgeon as the son of an African king who had saved his life many years earlier. The event will feature wine seminars at the Stein Eriksen Lodge on Thursday, vintner dinners in private homes and local restaurants and lunch at St. Regis Deer Valley on Friday and a gala auction and an after-party celebration at the Montage Deer Valley on Saturday.
