The Egyptian Theatre, 328 Main St., will present a night of classic rhythm and blues when Motown Sounds performs through Sunday, June 9. Saturday evening performances will begin at 8 p.m. There will be a Saturday matinee at 5 p.m. Sunday’s performance will begin at 6 p.m. The production will feature the music of the Temptations, the Supremes, the Jacksons, Smokey Robinson and Marvin Gaye. Be the Match Donor Drive
Park City Medical Center, 900 Round Valley Dr. at Quinn’s Junction, will hold a Be the Match donor drive on Sunday, June 9, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. to find stem-cell matches for two Park City residents and raise awareness for the national stem cell registry. Anyone between the ages of 18 to 44 is eligible to participate. A swab of their cheeks will be sent to the Be the Match registry for results. Registration is free. Park City Culinary Institute’s New Session
The Park City Culinary Institute will welcome back Yu Yamamoto on Wednesday, June 12, at 6 p.m. at the Deer Valley Club, 7720 Royal Street East at Silver Lake Village. Yamamoto, who is stationed at Montage Deer Valley, will share techniques he uses to select fresh fish and how to make sushi rice. He will also show the various knives used by sushi chefs and the various fish-cutting techniques, and, finally, he will demonstrate how to assemble and plate a variety of sushi and sashimi. The Park City Dance Club has ended its usual season, but will continue offering sessions the second Wednesdays in June, July and August. Navajo Rug Show Meeting
Adopt-a-Native-Elder, a nonprofit organization that helps provide supplies to Navajo reservations, will hold a Navajo Rug Show meeting on Thursday, June 13, at 5:30 p.m. at the Park City Community Church, 4501 N. S.R. 224. During the meeting, the staff will recruit volunteers for the upcoming rug show in November. More than 150 volunteers are needed to host the event.
