Park City Film Series: ‘Meru’
The Park City Film Series will present Jimmy Chin and Elizabeth Chai’s "Meru," rated R, at the Jim Santy Auditorium of the Park City Library, 1255 Park Ave., through Sunday, Oct. 11. Saturday’s screenings will begin at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Sunday’s screening will begin at 6 p.m. In the high-stakes pursuit of big-wall climbing, the Shark’s Fin on Mount Meru in the Himalayas may be the ultimate prize. Sitting 21,000 feet above the sacred Ganges River in Northern India, the mountain’s obstacles make it both a breathtaking challenge and an irresistible calling for some of the world’s toughest and most experienced climbers. Live PC Give PC Kickoff Party at O.P. Rockwell
Live PC Give PC will host an early kickoff party at O.P. Rockwell, 268 Main St., on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m., to celebrate the countdown to the annual day of giving that will take place on Friday, Nov. 6. The party will feature local musician Bryon Friedman who will premiere a song that celebrates the community’s willingness to give and supports nonprofits and community needs. Locals’ Free Day at the Park City Museum
The Park City Museum, 528 Main St., will host a locals’ free day on Tuesday, Oct. 13. All Summit County residents will be admitted for free to explore the recent traveling exhibit "Plastics Unwrapped." The locals’ free day is sponsored by Leland and Diana Swaner. Table for Twelve Food & Wine Experience
The Fox School of Wine will present October’s Table for Twelve Food & Wine Experience at the Market Park City, 1500 Snow Creek Dr., on Thursday, Oct. 15, at 6:30 p.m. This month the theme is the Iberian Peninsula: Spain & Portugal. Participants will savor delicious meats and cheese from these regions and enjoy wine pairings. Reservations are required, space is limited to 12, and participants must be 21 or older.
