Park City Film Series: ‘Meru’
The Park City Film Series will present Jimmy Chin and Elizabeth Chai’s "Meru," rated R, at the Jim Santy Auditorium of the Park City Library, 1255 Park Ave., through Sunday, Oct. 11. Saturday’s screenings will begin at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Sunday’s screening will begin at 6 p.m. In the high-stakes pursuit of big-wall climbing, the Shark’s Fin on Mount Meru in the Himalayas may be the ultimate prize. Sitting 21,000 feet above the sacred Ganges River in Northern India, the mountain’s obstacles make it both a breathtaking challenge and an irresistible calling for some of the world’s toughest and most experienced climbers. This extraordinary journey makes for an intense and beautifully photographed documentary. Tickets are $8 general admission and $7 for senior citizens and students. Live PC Give PC Kickoff Party at O.P. Rockwell
Live PC Give PC will host an early kickoff party at O.P. Rockwell, 268 Main St., on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m., to celebrate the countdown to the annual day of giving that will take place on Friday, Nov. 6. The party will feature local musician Bryon Friedman who will premiere a song that celebrates the community’s willingness to give and supports nonprofits and community needs.
