Green Beret Foundation and Duskin Stephens Foundation Fundraiser
The Green Beret Foundation and the Duskin and Stephens Foundation will host a commemorative fundraiser at O.P. Rockwell, 263 Main St., on Saturday, Sept. 12, to honor First Sgt. Peter McKenna who was killed in action on Aug. 7. The event will start at 7 p.m. and will feature live music by Six Feet in the Pine and drink specials. Admission is $10. Park City Film Series Dual Language Immersion Film: ‘Zarafa’
The Park City Film Series’s Dual Language Immersion film will be Rémi Bezançon and Jean-Christophe Lie’s "Zarafa," not rated, at the Jim Santy Auditorium of the Park City Library, 1255 Park Ave., and at the Summit County Library Kimball Junction Branch, 1885 W. Ute Blvd., on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 3 p.m. The animated film is about Maki, a 10-year-old boy who tries to return a giraffe named Zarafa to his homeland. Autumn Contra Dance at the Rockport Old Church
The autumn contra dance will be held at the Rockport Old Church in Wanship on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 7 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. Dances are taught and dancers rotate partners through each dance. Calling will be by Rob Snow and music will be performed by Loose Shoes and the Rockport Dam Band. Doors open at 7 p.m. A teaching workshop will start at 7:30 p.m. with dancing from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The event is sponsored by Utah State Parks, Friends of Rockport Old Church, and Loose Shoes. Sixth Annual EpicPromise Day
The Swaner EcoCenter will partner with Vail Resorts to present the sixth annual Vail EpicPromise Day on Saturday, Sept. 19. More than 180 Vail Resorts employees, friends and families members, the Swaner EcoCenter staff, East Canyon Watershed Committee and Trout Unlimited will join forces and complete several water-quality restoration and improvement projects along East Canyon Creek and the Weber River.
