Teton Gravity Research’s "Almost Ablaze" will come to Park City
Tickets for general admission are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Tickets for ages 16 and younger at $10 at the door.
"Almost Ablaze" highlights stunning locations, next-level riding, and the globetrotting lifestyle of these thrill-seeking athletes, including Sage Cattabriga-Alosa, Ian McIntosh, Tim Durtschi, Angel Collinson, Dana Flahr, Dane Tudor, Dash Longe, Dylan Hood, Colter Hinchliffe, Todd Ligare, Griffin Post, Johnny Collinson, Mark Carter, Max Hammer, Joss Christensen, Chris Laker, Karl Fostvedt and Nick McNutt.
The locations include Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Revelstoke Mountain Resort in British Columbia, Selkirk Tangiers Heliskiing in Sella Nevea, Italy, La Grave, France, Sarajevo, Bosnia, Grand Targhee, Wyoming, and Juneau, Alaska.
During one point in the filming, the crew sets up camp deep in the Teton Range hitting 5,000-foot dream lines all on foot.
Audiences can check out urban riding in the war-torn Winter Olympic venues of Sarajevo and explore the massive untapped terrain of Sella Nevea, Italy, during a record winter where they struggle to keep lifts and chalets from completely disappearing into the snow.
They can also feel the madness as TGR’s full cast of athletes meets in Revelstoke for a mind-blowing session producing some of the most diverse riding in the world.
"Almost Ablaze" takes you beyond the boundaries. Experience a rarely seen state of being and level of excitement where one missed step will result in total chaos.
"Our goal with this film was to keep the athletes mic’d at all times, and to capture them in their element," says Todd Jones, TGR co-founder. "We placed cameras away from them, while still capturing that audio, and we got real, live, core moments that show the different emotions the athletes go through while pushing themselves in the mountains."
Since 1996, TGR has worked with the top athletes in their respective disciplines to capture, celebrate and bring to life the passion and enthusiasm associated with action sports.
Known for its media and lifestyle products, TGR has significant production experience on all seven continents including commercial work, branded entertainment, original television programming, and 32 award-winning feature films.
TGR is a proud member of 1% For The Planet, BICEP, Surfrider Foundation and Protect Our Winters.
Teton Gravity Research will premiere the feature ski film, "Almost Ablaze," on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 8 p.m. at Jupiter Bowl, 1090 Center Dr., at Kimball Junction. Tickets for general admission are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Tickets for ages 16 and younger at $10 at the door. For more information or to buy tickets, visit TetonGravity.com.
