Authorities nabbed seven suspected drug dealers in Park City Friday who have actively sold cocaine throughout Wasatch and Summit counties, Summit County Sheriff Dave Edmunds said.

The suspects were allegedly "in the process of washing cocaine with acetone" when a condominium at 1150 Deer Valley Drive was raided by police, the sheriff said, adding, "six out of the seven people arrested are illegal aliens." "They had a nice little setup with which they would wash, cut, weigh and package the cocaine," Edmunds said. "This is a significant bust a big-time operation."

Undercover narcotics agents began working with the suspects setting up drug deals on Jan. 13, he said, adding, "they had a huge deal going." "It was a joint effort between us, Park City and Wasatch County," Edmunds said. "We’ve been working the stuff very, very hard and we expect a lot more. The [task force] has really done some excellent work over the last month." A 32-year-old man was arrested on four counts of cocaine distribution all first-degree felonies. The suspect faces a second-degree felony for distribution of marijuana and several felonies and misdemeanors for possession of cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Officers also seized $4,289 in cash from the man, according to documents provided by Edmunds.

A 44-year-old man could face four felonies for possession and distribution of cocaine and possession of a forged Social Security card, the sheriff said.

Police charged a 23-year-old man arrested at the scene with three distribution-related, first-degree felonies and a 34-year-old man, 35-year-old man, 30-year-old man and 19-year-old man all face first-degree felonies for cocaine distribution, Edmunds said. The Park Record does not usually name suspects until formal charges are filed.

Officers with the BackNET narcotics task force, comprised of detectives from various agencies along the Wasatch Back, executed the warrant and made the arrests, the sheriff said, adding that the suspects are incarcerated in the Summit County Jail.
