A star City Hall official honored

by Jay Hamburger OF THE RECORD STAFF

The Silver Star developers honored Park City’s retiring chief building official, Ron Ivie during an event on the Silver Star grounds on Thursday.

The developers renamed a building after Ivie, who has held his position since 1980. The building dates to Park City’s silver-mining era and now houses an artist-in-residence program in the summer and Sundance Film Festival office space in the winter.

Developers Chris Conabee and Rory Murphy presented Ivie with a sign designating the Ron Ivie Building.

Ivie is scheduled to retire on June 30. There is a possibility he will remain in a limited role at City Hall on a contract basis afterward. Numerous City Hall staffers and members of the Park City Fire District attended the event at Silver Star.
