Art needed for the Coalville City Library

Submitted by the Summit County Public Art Advisory Board

The Summit County Public Art Advisory Board seeks qualified artists to produce art to enhance open spaces in the interior of the new Coalville City Library.

A Request for Proposal for the project is posted today and can be downloaded from the Summit County website, using the link, http://www.summitcounty.org/publicart/opportunities.php .

Renovation of the Summit County Public Health Building, 82 N. 50 East, in Coalville was recently completed and now houses a new public library on the north end of the building and a public health department on the south end.

The Summit County Public Art Advisory Board has identified three areas of the library for artwork, including the interior south wall in the library entry, the interior rafters, and the "teen corner" in the northwest interior of the library.

The project budget has been set at $4,000. All interested artists are encouraged to download the RFP for further project details, including a timeline and site photographs.

"The Summit County Public Art Advisory Board is thrilled to be working with the Library Committee to secure pieces that will complement the design of the new Coalville Library," says Jenny Dorsey, Summit County Public Art Advisory Board Chair.
