Back-to-School Basics fundraiser
July 12, 2011
Back-to-School Basics hosted a silent auction on June 30 at the Newpark Town Center. Parkites gathered to enjoy live music and to support a good cause. Trish Alderman, Back-to-School Basics program director, said the auction raised more than $3,700 that will go toward taking under privileged students shopping for school clothes this fall. According to Alderman, the organization still needs to raise more than $8,000 in order to include all the kids who have applied to the program. Some of the larger items auctioned off were Skullcandy headphones, a one-night stay at Hotel Park City, ski passes and a round of golf to the Park City golf course.
