A 12-year-old girl who was riding her bicycle at the Kearns Boulevard-Monitor Drive intersection suffered neck and back injuries in a collision with a vehicle Thursday evening, the Park City Police Department said.

She left in an ambulance heading to a Salt Lake City hospital, Lynn Nagel, a police sergeant who responded, said. Paramedics put the girl on a stretcher before placing her in the ambulance. The police were not immediately sure where she is from.

Nagel said the girl was riding across Monitor Drive from east to west. The driver was heading northbound crossing Kearns Boulevard when the collision occurred, he said. The accident happened at about 7:15 p.m.

Nagel was unsure whether the driver hit the girl or if the girl ran into the vehicle. He was not sure whether the girl was crossing with the light. The police are continuing to investigate.
