Stein Eriksen Lodge wins Five-Star Award
For the second straight year, the Mobil Travel Guide has bestowed the hospitality industry’s most prestigious designation the Mobil Five-Star award upon Stein Eriksen Lodge. The lodge maintains its position on an elite list of 44 hotels, inns and resorts throughout North America.
Park City Chamber/Bureau hosts Economic Forecast Luncheon
Each year, the Park City Chamber/Bureau hosts an Economic Forecast Luncheon to forecast anticipated business levels in several key economic sectors for the upcoming year. This year’s will be Monday, Feb. 2, from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. at The Yarrow. Seats are $25 in advance, $30 at the door.
Hospital chief nursing officer chosen
Gail McGuill has been named the chief nursing officer of Intermountain Healthcare’s Park City Medical Center, a new hospital that will be open in mid-2009.
Natural gas efficiency programs approved
The Utah Public Service Commission (PSC) has approved the third year of natural gas efficiency programs benefiting Utah residents and businesses. The approval was requested by Questar Gas and supported by Utah Clean Energy and other stakeholders.
ThermWise provides incentives for energy-efficient appliances, solar-assisted water heating, home weatherization such as attic, wall and floor insulation, and builder rebates for energy-efficient new-home construction, among others.
Energy-efficiency upgrades have saved Utah consumers millions of dollars per year in energy costs.
Six cocktails in the running for Canyons Village winter contest
For its first year, and smaller-scale eligibility, there are six participating restaurants and bars: KITA at Pendry, Kutchu Shabu, Escala Provisions Co. at Hyatt Centric, Red Tail Grill, Edge Steakhouse and The Farm.
