Since then, they say their companies in the Rocky Mountain Region have saved 2.5 million plastic bags from use. The company is also offering "30 Ways in 30 Days" calendars to encourage people to set attainable goals to live more sustainably. Also this month, for each reusable bag purchased, the store will plant one tree through Trees for the Future.
Recent study says too many uninsured in Utah
New Utah-specific data on the uninsured released recently with Families USA’s new report "Americans at Risk," says that the non-partisan group’s updated report finds that 1 in 3 Utahns (32 percent) under the age of 65 went without health insurance for all of part of 2007 and 2008. Of those 784,000 uninsured Utahns, nearly three-quarters (71 percent) had a gap in coverage of six months or longer. Further, of these 784,000 individuals, 84 percent are members of working families.
