Black bear killed on Interstate 80

While driving west on Interstate 80 July 2 a woman in a Jeep Grand Cherokee hit and killed a black bear.

The crash occurred near the Lambs Canyon exit at about 11:30 p.m., Utah Department of Public Safety spokesman Cameron Roden said.

"There was a black bear in the road in the pass lane," Roden said.

The driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

"They did get the bear out of the roadway and notified wildlife services to pick it up," Roden said.
