Blue Boar sweeps Best of State
June 5, 2012
The Blue Boar Inn & Restaurant won more Best of State Awards than any other tourism business in Utah for 2012. The Midway bed and breakfast and restaurant won five awards for Best Inn, Best Bed-and-Breakfast, Best European Dining, Best Brunch and Best Chef. This is the eighth consecutive year the Blue Boar Inn won Best Bed-and-Breakfast and the second year in a row, the third time overall, that Chef Eric Nay was awarded with Best Chef. "We are truly honored to have received this recognition from such a distinguished organization that recognizes excellence in our community," said Jay Niederhauser, the innkeeper for the Blue Boar, in a press release. "We are particularly delighted for Chef Eric May’s accomplishments, especially since these honors are a direct reflection of our team’s commitment to providing our guests with the finest dining and lodging experience in the state."
The Blue Boar Inn has 12 styled rooms complete with turrets, wrought-iron balconies and fireplaces. The Restaurant offers a European menu pairing classic and modern-day dishes using fresh ingredients and a variety of cooking methods, Nay said.
"These are important awards," he added. "For the owners it’s important, for the clients it’s important, and for the recognition we receive among our peers, it’s important."
The bed and breakfast also received a AAA Four Diamond Award for 2012.
