Brief: Goldman Sachs Utah to hire 690 employees
September 11, 2009
According to the Economic Development Corporation of Utah, Goldman Sachs will expand its Salt Lake City operations by 690 new full-time employees. The firm is expected to draw much of its employee base from Utah’s higher education system. These highly-skilled positions will pay well in excess of the Salt Lake County average wage. The modified incentive from the state will be for a $47.3 million post-performance refundable tax credit, based on 30 percent of new state revenue collected over 20 years. The state is expected to collect $157 million in new state-tax revenue from Goldman Sachs over the same period.
