Brief: Park City Toastmasters take top honors in competition
September 29, 2009
Two members of the Park City Toastmasters Club took first place in last Saturday’s area speech competition in Salt Lake City. Andy Cier won the Area D3 competition for best humorous speech and Jon Henry won the evaluation competition. Cier’s seven-minute speech was about going bald, and Henry’s two-to-three minute evaluation provided feedback to a fellow Toastmaster about ways to improve her speech. Both Parkites will advance to the district competition Oct. 24 in Salt Lake City. Toastmasters is a non-profit organization devoted to developing public speaking and leadership skills through practice and feedback in local clubs. The Park City Toastmasters Club meets every Tuesday at 7 a.m. in the Richins Building at Kimball Junction. For more information, visit http://www.parkcitytoastmasters.org .
