King awards

Every year, the University of Utah presents Martin Luther King, Jr. Awards to outstanding students from across the state in recognition of their dedication to social action, positive change and building bridges among cultures and communities. The following Park City High School students are nominated for the 2006 award: Jon Dalton, Carson Flint, Hannah Nicholes, Derek Painter, Elisa Patterson. Holiday Origami Ginger Brakke will be teaching how to make Origami holiday ornaments at the Summit County Main Library Saturday, Dec. 17 at 1:30 p.m. She is also doing a demonstration at the Kamas Library at 3:30 pm. Children of all ages are welcome to attend. New Prices at Aquatic Center The Park City Aquatic Center recently raised prices. Judy Tukuafu and Todd Klarich presented the recommendations to the School Board after comparing prices with other public facilities. Price increases include: adult open swim was raised from $3.50 to $4, child open swim from $2.50 to $3, water aerobics from $4 to $5 and swim lessons from $39 to $45 for eight half hour lessons.
