Bush fire near Echo Canyon

No structures threatened

A brush fire erupted seven miles east of Echo Junction about 4 p.m. Thursday, according to North Summit Fire Chief Mark Giauque. It is burning on the Ensign Ranches property and as of late afternoon was growing rapidly.

North Summit County Fire Service District, South Summit County Fire Protection District and firefighters from Uinta County, Wyoming were on scene.

As of Thursday afternoon fire was covered more than 2,000 acres, according to Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands Area Manager Mike Eriksson.

Summit County Fire Warden Bryce Boyer said that no structures were threatened at the time.
