Former Jazz player Mark Eaton and former Miss Utah Kathy Loveless will speak today at Deer Valley Resort’s Silver Lake Lodge from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The program "Playing in the Big League – Success Secrets for Getting to the Top of Your Game," will reveal how two people from very different backgrounds and fields of work made it to their respective big leagues.

Neither came from wealthy families, yet both have become multi-millionaires.

2008 Utah Solar Tour today at the Gateway

The Utah Solar Energy Association and partners are hosting the Utah Solar Tour on Sept. 13 in northern Utah and Sept. 27 throughout southern Utah.

The tour offers the opportunity to visit sites across the state feature solar technologies, the chance to speak with homeowners and installers, and to learn more about solar energy and available incentives.

Utah Office of Tourism meets Thursday in Torrey

The tourism board will meet Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. at the Sandstone Inn (formerly Wonderland Inn) at 875 E. Hwy. 24 at the Junction of 12 and 24 in Torrey, Utah.

Welcome and introductions will be given by Jo Sojourner of the Wayne County Travel Council. The meeting will hear the marketing committee report from Steve Lindburg and Dave Williams on the winter and summer ad campaigns as well as other miscellaneous marketing items before the director’s report from Leigh von der Esch.

Time will be given at the end for public comment.
