Tupelo restaurant wins award for wine
Tupelo Restaurant on Main Street was recently given an Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator magazine for its wine program. According to a press release, the Award of Excellence recognizes restaurants for well-chosen wine lists that match their menus. “We’re proud that our team’s hard work, dedication, attention to detail — and, not least, love of great wines — has earned this coveted recognition from Wine Spectator,” said chef Matt Harris, in the release. “Huge credit goes to our wine director, Sean Marron, who chose every wine based on how it fit not just with our food, but with our approach overall: globally-inspired dishes made with artisanal ingredients and special care.”
Chamber/Bureau to hold member breakfast
The Park City Chamber/Bureau is holding a breakfast for new members. According to the organization’s website, visitparkcity.com, the breakfast allows the new members to meet with the Chamber/Bureau’s leadership. The members can ask questions about the organization and their membership and forge relationships with the Chamber/Bureau’s senior management. The breakfast is scheduled for August 2, from 8 to 9:30 a.m., at The Pickle Jar. For more information, or to register, visit the website.
The Brass Tag brings aboard a new chef
The Brass Tag restaurant at Deer Valley Resort has hired Hector Armendariz to be its new chef. According to a press release, Armendariz has a long history of working in hotels and resorts, including at the Grand America Hotel. “Hector has shared his cooking prowess with some of the best hotels and resorts in the area,” said Jodie Rogers, director of food and beverage for Deer Valley Resort, in the release. “We look forward to the culinary delights and creative menu offerings he’ll dish up at The Brass Tag.”
