‘The Source’ heads to California art museum
January 31, 2014
Keller Construction out of Salt Lake City is currently taking down artist Doug Aitken’s piece, "The Source," after its display on Swede Alley during the 2014 Sundance Film Festival. Superintendent of construction Carl Gilbert said it took five weeks to construct. They have now been given just three weeks to deconstruct it and number every piece for reconstruction in an art museum in southern California. "It was fun putting it up, so it’s sad to see it come down after just 10 days," Gilbert said. He added that they should be done in a week and a half, meaning parking should be back to normal.
