*Every Wednesday, through October, The Canyons will host Park City’s Farmers Market from noon 6 p.m. in the Cabriolet parking lot. Stop by for fresh produce, fresh baked bread and arts and crafts from local vendors.

Thursday 12

*The Intermountain Acoustic Music Association will present Italian virtuoso guitarist Beppe Gambetta in concert today, at 7:30 p.m. at the South Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, 6876 South Highland Drive. *Park City Fencing Academy is offering a free introduction to fencing Oct. 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. Participants will learn about the three different weapons used in the Olympics, basic footwork and blade work, and have an opportunity to fence other class participants. *Global warming author David Korten will give a presentation at Westminster College Monday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. in the Vieve Gore Concert Hall. The presentation is free and open to the public.

*Larry Cesspooch, Ute spiritual leader and storyteller, will speak at the Santy Auditorium at the Park City Library Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. as part of "A First Nations’ History of the Great Basin." *The Westminster College Theatre Department will present the comedic musical "Urinetown" in the Jay W. *The Kimball Art Center and Friends of Animals are requesting donations of artwork from Park City artists and galleries for a special fundraiser benefiting both non-profits. Submissions should be focused on man’s best friend. Interested artists may submit artwork by Nov. 1 to curator Erin Linder. Items will be auctioned off Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. at the art center. *The 2007 X-Dance Action Sports Film Festival is now open for submissions. X-Dance will be held during the Sundance Film Festival in Park City Jan. 19-23, 2007. The entry deadline is Nov. 4, 2006 and all entries must go through http://www.x-dance.com . This year, X-Dance is requiring either a filmmaker or other representative to be in physical attendance.

*The Kimball Art Center will present an exhibit for Andrew Smith: Kinetic Art Sculptures at the Kimball Art Center. His work will be on display through Oct. 29.

*The Salt Lake Children’s Choir, Ralph B. Woodward, director, is now conducting auditions for boys and girls from 9 through 15 years of age. *Look Good Feel Better is a free program that teaches beauty and hair techniques to female cancer patients in active treatment. *Caregivers Night Out is a monthly support group that offers assistance for those that are taking care of loved ones.
