Canvass does not change election

An election canvass Monday in Coalville did not change results from campaign 2008.

Here is the final vote breakdown in Summit County:

President: Democrat Barack Obama 56 percent, Republican John McCain 41 percent

Congressional District 1: Democrat Morgan Bowen 50 percent, Republican Rob Bishop 45 percent. But incumbent Bishop won district-wide.

Governor: Republican Jon Huntsman Jr. 71 percent, Democrat Bob Springmeyer 27 percent

Attorney General: Republican Mark Shurtleff 53 percent, Democrat Jean Welch Hill 43 percent

State Senate District 19: Republican Allen Christensen 63 percent, Democrat Bill Hansen 37 percent

State House District 25: Democrat Christine Johnson 69 percent, Republican Garrett Clark 29 percent

State House District 53: Democrat Kathy Lofft 54 percent, Republican Melvin Brown 46 percent. But incumbent Brown won district-wide.

Summit County Council seat A: Democrat Sally Elliott 58 percent, Republican Bill Miles 42 percent

Summit County Council seat B: Democrat Claudia McMullin 55 percent, Republican Grant Richins 45 percent

Summit County Council seat C: Democrat John Hanrahan 62 percent, Republican Thomas Hurd 38 percent

Summit County Council seat D: Democrat Christopher Robinson 51 percent, Republican Alison Pitt 39 percent, Constitution Party member Gary Shumway 10 percent

Summit County Council seat E: Republican David Ure 52 percent, Democrat Steve Weinstein 48 percent
