City Hall hires N.J. man as top planner

City Hall has hired a private-sector planner from the gambling city of Atlantic City, N.J., as its top planning official.

Thomas Eddington Jr. starts on July 28. He has also worked in the government sector, in South Bend, Ind. In a release, City Hall says Eddington’s work in South Bend included redeveloping vacant warehouses and schools into apartments.

He replaces Pat Putt, who left City Hall in February.
