Clean up needs volunteers

Summit County planner Ashley Koehler says it’s the most fun a family could have picking up trash.

The county will host its 3rd annual road clean up May 16 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Echo Road and Weber Canyon Road are the streets adopted for the event, according to Koehler.

"Volunteers are needed to pick up all the trash on the side of these well-traveled roads," a press release from Summit County states. "Bags in fences and trees, cans, bottles and clean paper will be recycled."

The group will take other trash to the landfill.

The county provides breakfast and lunch. Gloves, safety vests, trash bags and recycling bags are also provided.

The crew on Weber Canyon Road will meet for breakfast at the Oakley School at 8:30 a.m.

"It’s a great way to get some exercise, and give back to the community," Koehler said.
