Enjoy jazz with altitude

Celebrate jazz in the mountains with the 11th annual Park City Jazz Festival. This year’s headliners include Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, The Rippingtons and Blues Traveler, plus 11 other local and national acts. Tickets start at just $45, children 12 and under are free. The events starts Friday, Aug. 22, at 3:30 p.m. and goes until Sunday, Aug. 24, at 9 p.m. at the Deer Valley Resorts Outdoor Amphitheatre.

Volunteers needed for stream restoration

The Swaner EcoCenter needs volunteers to help with stream restoration on Aug. 20, 21, and 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. We will be installing old Christmas trees along the streambanks to reduce erosion; this helps to improve wildlife habitat and water quality. No experience necessary. Executive director forum

Co-hosted by Utah Nonprofits Association and The Park City Foundation, this is a free opportunity for nonprofit executive directors to meet, discuss, share and learn. UNA & PCF will provide the space, coffee and pastries. Participants will provide the discussion. Get ready: used book sale

It’s time for the Park City Library’s Annual Used Book Sale . It is sponsored by the Friends of the Park City Library and it will be held over the Labor Day Weekend in the Jim Santy Auditorium above the Park City Library at 1255 Park Avenue in Park City. A members’ preview night will be held Friday, Aug. 29, from 6-8 p.m. Memberships will be available to purchase at the door. The general public sale is Saturday, Aug. 30, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 31, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The bargain bag sale is Monday, Sept. 1, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fill an entire bag of books for just $5, or two bags for $8.
