Park City Film Series presents "The Reader"

The Park City Film Series presents "The Reader" in the Jim Santy Auditorium at the Park City Library and Education Center. The show starts at 7 p.m. and adult tickets are $7. Nominated for 5 Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Actress, this adaptation of Bernhard Schlink’s best-selling novel is the tale of a young man’s sexual encounters with a woman in post-World War II Germany and the effect it has throughout his entire life. Kate Winslet, Ralph Fiennes and newcomer David Kross star in this unforgettable story which deals with Germany’s dark past and a new generation’s attempts to come to terms with the painful history.

First annual gear swap

Saturday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Summit Honda is hosting the first annual gear swap to allow on-road, off-road, watercraft, and scooter owners the chance to bring their unwanted or outgrown apparel, or accessories that are no longer needed. Sell them, or trade them with other owners Saturday, April 4, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Participants need to bring their own table and chairs, as well as small money to make change. Don’t have time to sell your own stuff? Ask Summit Honda the details and we’ll do it for you. The swap will be held in the parking lot at Summit Honda, 6407 North Business Park Loop. Call 649-7433 or check out for directions Plus, for a $5 donation, participants will receive a chili dog, chips and a soda to benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s Ride For Kids.

Park City Library Board vacancies

The mayor is accepting applications for library board vacancies for terms of three years. Appointments will be effective July 1. Applicants must be residents of park city and willing to attend monthly meetings and other meetings as business demands. Applications are available at the Park City Library and at the mayor’s office.
