Commotion at Deer Valley construction site

Emergency crews have descended on the Montage construction site outside of Deer Valley Resort’s Empire Lodge after a construction crew discovered what Police Chief Wade Carpenter described as an "old mine vault." Carpenter said dynamite has been discovered in the vault. He is unsure how much dynamite is inside the vault and he is unsure how old the dynamite is.

The site is approximately 830 feet from the lodge. Traffic has been stopped on the upper regions of Marsac Avenvue close to into the lodge.

Carpenter said the authorities have ordered the airspace above the lodge closed. A news helicopter however, is circling.

More information is expected to be available by 1:00 p.m.
