Company turns an event into a soiree

The guests talked, laughed, danced and celebrated of the union of two beloved friends. But one small disaster can ruin anything.
One of the 200 guests in Dyan Pignatelli’s house, an elderly woman, fell down a few stairs to audible gasps, in what could have been such a disaster, if it hadn’t been for the wedding planner.
"Lillie came out of nowhere to save the day," Pignatelli said. "She was there in a heartbeat with band-aids, antiseptic, everything. The party could have screeched to a halt, but she was on it and everybody just kept on dancing. Lillie took the guest to the bathroom to help her and then, just as quick, was back talking to the caterers about food."
Lillie Garrido, owner, president and event designer of Soiree Productions, is known by her clients as a problem solver there is nothing too big, and nothing too small.
At another Pignatelli wedding, Garrido helped solve a conflict about seating assignments, helped the florist with arrangements and did "anything and everything else that needed to be done, even if it wasn’t her job," Pignatelli said.
"The days of the event she is onsite for every event and helps with everything. She takes care of everything from the minutest things to the biggest things. Lillie is one of the most organized people I know, but not only is she organized, she’s also incredibly competent."

Pignatelli has hired Garrido and her staff to do two weddings, which Pignatelli called "big and complicated." They included a golf tournament, welcome dinners, luncheons, receptions, brunches and more.
Soiree Productions, a wedding and event planning and design company, will officially open a Park City office Saturday at 11 a.m. with a ribbon cutting and celebration.
Although many of her clients are destination travelers and second-home owners, Garrido said she loves to help locals plan their events. She has spent years researching local businesses in order to know who are the best people to work with in Park City. From florists to caterers, and venues to decorators, she has portfolios on several local businesses that are the stars of the industry.
"We can just oversee an event that the clients plan and coordinate, or they can handle it all and we can help them find the right people," she said. "We only select the vendors we feel are the best in the area. We look for the vendors who we’ve worked with through the years who do a great job and are willing to work with various budgets."
Typically, clients sit down with a planner for a free one-hour consultation to decide what they want to do. The planners listen and pull portfolios of the vendors that meet the clients’ needs. The client can then choose the vendors that they like best.
"We have done all the research for them so really it’s a one-stop shopping," Garrido said. "What could take several months for them to research and negotiate will only take moments. We have different packages available from one that would allow the clients to choose between us helping them to organize the event to having us set it up ourselves with their input. They can be as involved as they want to be."
This year Soiree Productions will add a retail store to the wedding planning and library. White Couture will be located in the same building and sell unique designer wedding gowns and event accessories, along with providing designer tuxedo rentals.
Rivinni, Judd Waddell and Carmella Sutera are just a few of the featured designers.
"In October I’ll go back to New York and meet with about five other designers I’m considering, so we’ll slowly but surely add more," she said. "The main goal for the store is to always remain different. I don’t ever want to carry a gown that is already available in the state of Utah."
