Congressman plans town meeting

PR

Rep. Rob Bishop plans to hold a town meeting on Thursday, appearing in Kamas as he prepares for the upcoming election season.

Bishop is scheduled to appear from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Kamas City Hall, 170 N. Main St.

The two-term Republican congressman’s office describes the appearance as an "open-forum, general issue" meeting. Seven similar events are planned in the district.

In November, Bishop faces Democrat Steve Olsen and two third-party candidates, Libertarian Lynn Badler and Constitution Party candidate Mark Hudson. Bishop is expected to easily win re-election.

Bishop represents Utah’s 1st Congressional District, which encompasses a large swath of the state, including Summit County.
