The Park City Fire District will allow brush to be burned in western Summit County until June 9.

Contact the district at 940-2532 or visit the fire station at 736 W. Bitner Road to schedule an inspection to obtain a burn permit.

$$$ for wildlife

State wildlife agencies will receive more than $60 million to help conserve and recover imperiled wildlife, Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne said.

"Taken together, the state and territorial wildlife action plans represent the most comprehensive national assessment of fish and wildlife resources and the steps needed to ensure healthy populations," Kempthorne said in a press release about the State Wildlife Grant Program. "The State Wildlife Grant Program provides crucial funding to implement these action plans and support conservation partnerships with state, tribal and territorial wildlife agencies, as well as private partners."
