Court Report: South Carolina woman gets 50 days in jail on drug, weapons charges

The following cases were heard Monday, July 1, in 3rd District Court at the Summit County Justice Center, according to the Summit County Attorney’s Office:

Samantha Danice Boyd-Pier, 39, of Greenville, South Carolina, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a second-degree felony, and the purchase, transfer, possession or use of a firearm by a restricted person, a third-degree felony. The court imposed a 50-day jail sentence, placed the defendant on court probation for 24 months and ordered her to pay a $1,000 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions. The court also imposed two concurrent, suspended sentences at the Utah State Prison: one to 15 years for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and zero to five years for the purchase, transfer, possession or use of a firearm by a restricted person.

Kristina Xiong, 41, of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, was sentenced for the offense of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a third-degree felony. The court placed the defendant on court probation for 24 months and ordered her to pay a $2,500 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions. The court also imposed a sentence of zero to five years at the Utah State Prison, which was suspended.
