Crash closes freeway, hurts man
April 15, 2009
Eastbound lanes on Interstate 80 were blocked Wednesday afternoon as crews extricated a man from a Jeep Cherokee at about 3:10 p.m.
"He is in serious to critical condition," said Cameron Roden, a spokesman for the Utah Highway Patrol. As of 4:25 p.m. two of the freeways three eastbound lanes had reopened.
The crash on eastbound I-80 between Kimball Junction and the Silver Creek exit involved the Cherokee and a semi-truck, Roden said.
He could not provide details about the people involved in the crash or how the vehicles collided.
