Crash left man in ‘extremely critical’ condition
The driver of a pickup truck on Tuesday was in extremely critical condition after he was ejected from the vehicle near Henefer, the authorities said.
The traffic crash occurred at about 5:45 a.m., said Cpl. Todd Johnson, a spokesman for the Utah Highway Patrol.
The man was traveling west on Interstate 84 when the truck veered into the center lane.
"As the highway curved to the right, his truck went straight," Johnson said. "The truck started to roll in the median and the driver was ejected."
The man landed on the eastbound side of the road.
"He was on the right shoulder," Johnson said.
Johnson did not release the man’s name or hometown.
The man was airlifted to a hospital in Salt Lake County, Johnson said.
“Even the dogs were celebrating the reemergence of the sun.”
