Disabled veterans ride into Park City
The disabled veterans riding across the U.S. arrived in Park City on Thursday afternoon, pedaling into lower Deer Valley for a reception later that day.
The riders traveled on road bikes, handcycles or recumbent bicycles, which allow someone to ride while in a seated position.
A few vehicles accompanied the group of 16 riders, who were injured in wars starting with the Vietnam War.
Mayor Dana Williams and the Park City Council plan to honor the riders Thursday evening. The riders also plan to attend a reception at The St. Regis Deer Valley.
A critic of a Park City workforce or otherwise affordable housing project in Old Town said he is considering an appeal of the Park City Planning Commission’s approval of the development.
