Kylie Malcolm, the daughter of Ann Beth Malcolm of Park City, Utah, graduated from Macalester College on Saturday, May 14. Malcolm received a liberal arts degree in Religious Studies and Classics (Classic Civil). Malcolm is a graduate of Park City High School. In addition, Malcolm was honored at the Macalester College Awards Ceremony May 13 and was honored with the cum laude award.


According to a press release, Governor Gary Herbert honored Park City School District for its energy efficiency awareness and efforts on May 10 in the State Capitol’s Gold Room. Board President Moe Hickey, Superintendent Ray Timothy, and Director of Support Services Stephen Oliver were present to receive the Excellence in Energy Star Promotion Award on behalf of the school district. In addition to hosting the first comprehensive high school in the State to achieve LEED certification, Park City School District has undertaken a number of energy-saving measures.


Grant Sanderson, a graduating senior at Park City High School has been named one of 560 semifinalists in the 2011 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. The semifinalists were selected from more than 3,000 candidates on the basis of superior achievements, leadership qualities, personal character, and involvement in the community and school activities. The Commission will select one young man and one young woman from each state to be finalists. These individuals will be invited to Washington, D.C., in June.
