COMMON CORE AND DUAL-IMMERSION MEETING AT TRAILSIDE
A parent education workshop designed to inform parents about the Common Core curriculum and how to effectively help children at home will be held at Trailside Elementary School on Thursday, March 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the gym. Parents are invited to this informational session and parents with students enrolled in Dual Immersion for next year are encouraged to attend an informal meeting at 6 p.m. Program expectations will be reviewed along with the schedule for the beginning of next year. SWANER OFFERS CLIMATE LECTURE SERIES
Park City is teaming up with Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter along with universities in Utah to deliver a climate science lecture series this spring. "Focus on the Climate" will include professors from Brigham Young University, University of Utah, and Utah State University, who will be open to address climate change topics. The first lecture is scheduled March 27, at 7 p.m. at Swaner. Professor David Chapman from the University of Utah will talk about global climate change past, present and future. Several people approached Mayor Andy Beerman and the Park City Council this week pressing issues important to senior citizens. The issues include the availability of housing for people who want to age in the community.
