Join Basin Recreation and Mountain Trails as they celebrate winter trails with a Silver Ski event for the whole family on Saturday, Feb.10 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Start at Basin Recreation Field House or the McLeod Creek Trail and meet at Willow Creek Park on Old Ranch Road. There will be Starbucks hot chocolate, cross-country ski events, elimination races, broom ball, ski clinics and demos by Rossignol available throughout the day. Car wash cards
The Park City Lady Miners Softball team is fundraising. This Saturday, Feb. 3 the Miners will be selling car wash cards for the Travel Clean Car Wash at Kimball Junction. The girls will be at The Market of Park City (formerly Dan’s) and Smith’s at Kimball Junction from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The card is $30 and is a debit card for the car wash. The 2007 Park City Winterfest Celebration kicks off Saturday, Feb. 3 with the International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race. Mushers from around the world are racing to Park City from Jackson, Wyo. The final stage of the race will take place in Park City along the Rail Trail from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday. The race start area, located near the Rail Trail head in parking lot G at 1801 Prospector Avenue, will be filled with mushers, their sleds, and over 450 dogs eager to run. The event will feature live music, merchandise for sale, information booths and giveaways. The race ends at The Promontory/Star Pointe Trailhead so there will be lots of viewing locations. A Junior Musher Race with students from various middle and high schools in Wyoming and Utah, including students from Park City’s Ecker Hill International Middle School, will follow from 3-4 p.m.
As spring sports are beginning, the Park City High School Booster Club will meet to discuss how to best support the athletes on Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 6:30 p.m. at 2675 Broken Spoke Way in Park Meadows. Adult basketball league
Park City Recreation is taking registration for the adult spring basketball league. Register your team now. League play runs Feb. 8 through May 24 from 6-10 p.m. at the Racquet Club gym.
