Dog obedience classes

Park City Recreation is offering dog obedience classes on Tuesday evenings starting March 20 and continuing through April 24 at the Jim Santy Auditorium, 1255 Park Avenue. Sessions are available for puppy, basic, and intermediate obedience. To register, contact the Park City Racquet Club at 615-5401 or visit parkcityrecreation.org.

Start Smart baseball

Park City Recreation is offering Start Smart baseball or children ages 3-5. The class is designed to teach children the basic skills needed to join organized sports. Parents work one-on-one with their child in a fun, non-threatening environment. Classes will be held the week of March 26-30 from 4:40-5:30 p.m. at the Park City Racquet Club. Battersby wins open

Parkite Ashley Battersby won the women’s slopestyle at the Paul Mitchell Big Bear Open at Big Bear, Calif. last weekend. Battersby did a 540 to switch 540 trick for her first major win of the season. She also took third at the Aspen Open a few weeks ago. Battersby is now headed to Salzburg, Austria to ski in the Suzuki Newschool Picknick and then on to Laax, Switzerland to compete in the Orage European Open. Battersby is sponsored by Volkl, Tecnica, Marker, Helly Hansen, Scott USA, Bern Helmets, Park City Mountain Resort, Skullcandy, Icer and Team Vontaar.
