Park City High School graduate Chelsea Shapard, conference champion in the 400-meter hurdles was named to the All-Mountain West Conference team this week. Shapard was honored after becoming the conference champion in the of 400-meter hurdles last weekend. She won the event with a region-qualifying time. She was fourth with a few hundred meters to go and crossed the line first, hurdling her way to a 58.47 effort. Shapard will compete at the NCAA Regional meet in Eugene, Ore., May 24-26.
Youth Soccer Camp
The South Summit Aquatics and Fitness Center is offering a youth soccer camp for all skill levels June 4-7 from 10 a.m.- noon. The camp is for boys and girls ages 8-14. The cost is $15 and includes a T-shirt. Register at the South Summit Aquatic and Fitness Center’s Front Desk during regular business hours May 14 June 2. If the weather permits, the will be held camp on the South Summit High School soccer field. Shin guards are recommended but not necessary.
Blackley wins
Park City snowboarder Madison Blackley,18, took third place at the Volcom 2007 Peanut Butter and Rail Jam Championships at Mammoth Mt., Calif. last weekend. She also won the best trick award.
