AJ Gitlin, a 2007 Park City High School graduate, will be playing soccer this fall at the University of Missouri at Kansas City, a Division 1 mens program, under coaches Rick Benben and Fred Schlichting. The forward led the Miners in scoring with 14 goals in 12 games, averaging over a goal per game and was named to many all-state teams.
Park City Golf Club men’s league will hold the 4-Man Chicago event on Sunday, July 1 at 8 a.m. Participants pick their own teams. The entry fee is $30, plus green fees. Sign up in the golf shop or via e-mail at email@example.com.
Extreme summer camps
Park City Extreme Soccer is holding the first of two co-ed summer soccer camps June 25-29 at Willow Creek Park. The camp will be held from 8:30-10:30 a.m. for U-9 through U-12 and 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. for U-13 and up. All Extreme players and guest players are welcome. Youth Baseball Camp

The South Summit Aquatics and Fitness Center will offer a youth baseball camp this month. Basic skills will be taught including batting, throwing and catching. The camp runs from June 25-June 28 everyday from 10 a.m. – noon. The cost is $15 and includes a t-shirt. Register at the South Summit Aquatic and Fitness Center’s Front Desk during regular business hours. Registration is from June 11-22.
Park City Recreation welcomes PUSH America’s Journey of Hope cycling team as they pedal their way across America to raise money and awareness for people with disabilities. The 25-man team will make a stop at City Park on Tuesday, June 26 to perform a free puppet show at the bandstand in City Park starting at 1 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend the puppet show and meet the team before they continue on their trek to Washington, D.C.
