Summer Learn to Play Hockey and Learn to Skate classes will begin July 23. Learn to Play Hockey classes are available for skaters who are "stable (can stand without help) and able (can skate forward and stop)". Fall baseball tryouts
Competitive baseball players from Summit and Wasatch counties wanting to develop their individual and team baseball skills through the Fall 2007 season are invited to tryout for new 12-and-under team forming for the Fall 2007 Rocky Mountain Baseball season. The season runs from Aug. 25- Oct. 6. Games are played over a six-week schedule on Saturdays (doubleheaders). Tryouts are held on the little league field, adjacent to the Park City High School baseball field. Eleven players will be selected for the team. Practices will be held at least twice a week. A fall full of headers, corner kicks and goals is just around the corner. Boys and girls from preschool to ninth grade are invited to participate in Basin Recreation’s fall outdoor recreational soccer program. The cost is $65 and the deadline is Sunday, July 22. Space is not guaranteed after this date and the price will increase. The sessions will start the third week in August. The Park City Recreation 2007 Summer Skate Series will hold a competition on Saturday July 28 from 11 a.m.-3p.m. at the Park City Skate Park. Divisions will include beginners, intermediate, advanced, girls street and open bowl. Pre-register at the Click or at the Park City Racquet Club for $10 per division, or on the day of for $15. All participants are required to wear a helmet. There will be a deejay, concessions and giveaways. The Utah Skeleton and Bobsled Association will be holding an introductory skeleton program for youth ages 8-13 this summer. There will be three two-day sessions on July 25-26, Aug. 1-2 and Aug. 8-9. Each session will be held at the Utah Olympic Park. The introductory course will begin at 5 p.m. and end at 6:30 p.m. Youth may sign up for one week (two sessions) or multiple weeks. Registration is currently under way and there is a $20 registration fee for each weekly session. Registration is limited. The coach for this summer’s introductory program will be 2002 Olympic Skeleton Gold Medallist Tristan Gale! The youth will be taught proper sliding positioning as well as push and load techniques.
