The Park City High School hockey team invites the community to their first-ever Hooray for High School Hockey day at the Park City Ice Arena. The Park City Miners are hosting the Uintah Utes in back-to-back varsity and junior varsity games. The undefeated varsity team will drop the puck at 12:30 p.m., with the junior varsity game following immediately afterwards. Admission is free and the afternoon festivities will include prize giveaways, a shooting cage and an opportunity to meet the Utah Grizzlies’ mascot. Giveaways include iPod products and Skull Candy gear. Food and smoothies from Booster Juice will also be available
Adult soccer and lacrosse
Basin Recreation is offering adult soccer and lacrosse this winter. Soccer drop-in will be held Monday and Wednesday nights through March 9. Participants 18 and over meet every Wednesday from 9-11 p.m. participants 30 and over meet every Monday from 9-11 p.m. Drop-in lacrosse will also be held through March 9 every Sunday from 7-9 p.m. Athletes must supply their own equipment. Free trail passes
Free trail passes and a wide selection of very affordable used cross country ski packages will be offered at the Pre-Winter Ski Sale at Soldier Hollow on Nov. 3. Doors open at 8 a.m. and the sale continues until 5 p.m. each day. Complete ski packages start at $179 for adults and $75 for juniors, with both classic and skating skis available. All SWIX waxes, hats, gloves and accessories are 33 percent off. A free trail pass, good anytime during the 2007-08 season, will be available to any Utah resident who visits Soldier Hollow on that day. Free lessons will also be provided on Saturday, Dec.8. Pre- registration is required, but there is no cost. Nov. 3 is the last day for discounted season passes.
