The Park City Ice Arena will celebrate National Skating Month Sunday, Jan. 6 from 1-3 p.m. Anyone who pays admission and rents skates for the public session will be treated to a free group skating lesson, a figure-skating exhibition, a speed skating demonstration, a youth hockey scrimmage, door prizes and more. The Figure Skating Club of Park City, the Park City Speedskating Club, and the Park City Knights Youth Hockey organization will all be present to answer questions and take new registrations. Park City High School diver Tori Schechinger finished sixth overall in the Park City Diving Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 15 at the Park City Aquatic Center at Ecker Hill.
The Park City Ice Arena will offer Adult Learn-To-Play-Hockey classes Monday evenings from 8-9:30 p.m. beginning Jan. 7. The session will run for eight weeks (no class on Feb 18) and the cost is $110. Classes will focuses on the basic skills of ice hockey including power skating, stick handling, passing, shooting and positioning. The series helps adults develop their skills for recreational ice hockey. Limited equipment is available to rent. Call Debbie Modrovsky at 615-5702 for more information.
