High school water polo
The 2008 Park City High School Water Polo Club will begin regular after-school practice on Monday, Feb. 25, from 3-5 p.m. at the Park City Aquatic Center at Ecker Hill. The girls’ team is looking to improve from their fourth-place finish in 3-A last spring and the boys’ team is ready to defend and repeat their 2007 3-A State Championship. Beginning in March, the teams play pre-season games against several 4-A and 5A schools in Salt Lake, and usually participate in some 3-A invitational tournaments in Tooele and Cedar City, leading up to the state championships in mid-May. Parents and potential players with questions about playing competitive Water Polo for Park City High can contact Head Coach Larry Jackson at (801) 915-2992, or by e-mail at email@example.com. Pre-season workouts and scrimmages are already being held at 8 p.m. on Thursday nights at the pool. These informal sessions are ideal for those unfamiliar with the sport, or who may be interested in joining for the 2008 season.
