High school pavers

The Park City High School (PCHS) Booster Club invites members of the community to become part of the school’s legacy by purchasing a brick paver engraved with a personal message. They make unique gifts for graduating seniors or provide an opportunity to honor a student, family, favorite teacher, alumnus or remembering someone special. When placed in the "Pathway to Excellence," the engraved brick pavers are an enduring symbol of support. The paver may be engraved with a personal inscription for a $100 tax-deductible donation. All net proceeds help the PCHS Booster Club to support the school’s clubs, and athletic and academic teams. The pavers must be ordered by March 10. Order forms are available in the school’s front office or on the school’s Web site at http://www.pchs@pcschools.us.

"Werd" contest

There is one-week left to submit a "werd" to the "Ski and Snowboard" Lingo Contest, an open contest to coin a word for the combination of "skiing and snowboarding" by Ski Utah, Winter at Westminster and The Addictionary, an online dictionary of made-up werds. Some notable entries to the contest include "alping", "snowgliding," "mountain shredding," "skriding," "boardskiing" or "alpenscending." In addition to words describing both skiing and snowboarding, words which add to the general glossary of ski and snowboard lingo have also been accepted. Nearly 200 words have already been submitted to the contest, but a week still remains for additional entries and the chance to win great prizes. The Ski/Snowboard Lingo contest will run until March 4. The prize for the best new "werd" for skiing and snowboarding is a spring ski trip to Utah for two in April. The prize for the best new general ski/snowboard werd is two day passes at The Canyons Resort and 10 T-shirts featuring their winning word. Celebrity Judges include: Annie Fast, Executive Editor, Transworld, Snowboarding magazine Derek Taylor, Editor of Powder magazine; Nathan Rafferty, Ski Utah President, Kendall Card, and professional skiers Kristen Ulmer, and Julian Carr.
