The annual Fourth of July 5K Mountain Fun Run to benefit the Park City Ski Team is back again. Sponsored by Cole Sport and Industrial Supply, the run will begin at 8 a.m. on Friday. Pre-register at Cole Sport, located at 1615 Park Ave for $20, which includes a T-shirt or pre-register online at http://www.runnercard.com/e/runner.Main?meet=1501 . Pre-registration is available until 5 p.m. on July 3 at Cole Sport. Pre-registered runners may pick up their bibs and T-Shirts at Cole Sport on July 4 between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Registration is $25 after 5 p.m. on July 3. Race-day registration at Cole Sport will be held between 6:30-7:30 a.m. for $25. Run, jog, walk or push a stroller, but no dogs, please. The Park City Men’s Golf Club will host their Member-member/member-guest Tournament July 11-13. A derby will be held on Friday, July 11 at 5 p.m. The tournament will start at 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The event is limited to the first 60 paid entries. Journey of Hope
The Journey of Hope, a cross-country bicycle trek beginning in San Francisco, Calif. and Seattle, Wash. and ending in Washington, D.C. will pass through Park City on Monday, June 30. The event, which raises funds and awareness for people with disabilities, covers 32 different states, covers 12,000 miles combined, and is comprised of members of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. The group will present a puppet show at the City Park South End pavilion at noon on Monday. The public is invited to come see the puppet show and find out more about the Journey of Hope. The show is free and appropriate for all ages.
Youth hoops camp
Park City head girls basketball coach Matt Mapstone is holding the Park City Basic Fundamentals Basketball Camp June 23-27 and June 30- July 4. The camp is open to girls and boys and will teach basic skills. The cost is $120 for a week of camp.
