Park City Recreation is offering Toddler Time every Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. starting Nov. 3. Toddler Time allows children ages one to five to run and have fun with padded mats, foam balls, hula hoops, obstacle courses and much more in a free-play environment. The Utah Olympic Park will host the FIBT America’s Cup Oct. 30 through Nov. 2 on the Olympic ice track. The U.S. World Cup bobsled and skeleton athletes will compete in the season opener. Parkites sliding include Steve Holcomb, Ivan Radcliffe, Kimber Gabryszak, Valerie Fleming and Shauna Rohbock, as well as other Utahns Cassie Revelli, Chris Hedquist, Stokes Aitken, Zach Lund and Noelle Pikus-Pace. Over 70 athletes representing 13 nations will be competing on the 2002 Olympic track. Competition begins Thursday with two-man bobsledding at 9 a.m. Friday and Saturday, bobsled competition will be held at 9 a.m. followed by skeleton events at 2 p.m. The four-man bobsled competition will be held on Sunday at 9 a.m. Admission is free. Soldier Hollow Ski Sale
The annual Soldier Hollow Pre Winter Ski Sale is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Nov. 7 and 8, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily. The sale is held at the Lodge at Soldier Hollow in Midway. Used cross country ski packages start at $75 for juniors, including Rossignol skis, boots, bindings and poles. Junior packages with new skis and bindings — either skate or no wax classic — are priced at from $135 to $215. Used adult cross country ski packages are $189 for classic equipment and $279 for skate gear. Soldier Hollow guarantees all of the products, so buyers may switch out gear for another size or get a refund. Atlas snowshoes are also available, with medium and large adult sizes priced at $89 and junior snowshoes for $35. Also on sale are wax, accessories, irons, gloves and hats. All SWIX and TOKO items are 20 to 50 percent off, and make great stocking stuffers. Season passes remain on sale through Nov. 8.
