The Basin Recreation Field House is hosting Little Foot indoor soccer for children in preschool through second grade. The cost is $50 per player and the league runs from Jan. 6 through Feb. 12. All leagues are co-ed and divisions include: preschool (must be age 4) with play on Thursdays from 5 to 6 p.m.; kindergarten, with play on Tuesdays from 5 to 6 p.m.; first grade with play on Thursdays from 6 to 7 p.m.; and second grade with play on Tuesdays from 6 to7 p.m. The league is limited to 32 players per age group. Winter Ice Skating
The Park City Ice Arena’s winter session of Learn to Skate classes will be offered on Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m. or 5:05 p.m. beginning Jan. 6 and Fridays at 3 p.m. or 3:35 p.m. beginning Jan. 9. Classes are offered for all ages and ability levels. Participants may learn to skate in either figure or hockey skates. The rink also offers a Small & Tall class for kids ages 2-5 and a parent/guardian class on Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m. There is also an Adult Lunch Bunch class on Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m. and a Figure Skating 101 class on Wednesdays at 4:15 p.m. Registration fees include a 30-minute class, practice time, skate rental and a punch card for three open-skate sessions. Youth Telemark Ski Club Tele Tribe, Park City’s youth telemark skiing club, offers telemark ski instruction in a safe, non-competitive atmosphere, where kids can learn and share their skills with one another. The program is open to all levels and abilities, ages 8-18. They meet at The Canyons Resort Red Pine Lodge on Sunday afternoons from noon to 4 p.m. The Tele Tribe runs from Jan. 4 through April 5. The cost depends on the number of Sundays attended. Guest coaches include Canyons and Alta athletes, as well as Park City locals. White Pine Touring will be offering Tele Tribe members $15 ski/boot rentals on Sundays on a first-come basis. National Skating Month event
The Park City Ice Arena will celebrate National Skating Month with a special event Jan. 3 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Co-sponsored by U.S. Figure Skating, U.S. Speedskating and USA Hockey, the event will include $5 admission (skate rentals included), free lessons, door-prize drawings, figure skating as well as speed-skating and hockey demonstrations. Informational tables will be available from the Figure Skating Club of Park City, Park City Speedskating Club and the Park City Ice Miners Youth Hockey Club. Christmas Tree Recycling
The Park City Lacrosse Organization is holding its annual Christmas Tree Recycling Fundraiser. For $20 for each tree, the Park City High School boys’ and girls’ lacrosse teams will pick up holiday trees at local homes and haul them to the local recycling area.
