The Hope Alliance will host its third annual Golf*4*Hope tournament Monday, May 18, at the Park City Golf Club. Shotgun start for 18 holes is at 8:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided by Citris Grill and all players will have a chance to win big prizes. The Hope Alliance works to expand health care in underserved areas in Peru, Guatemala, Haiti, Nepal and Kenya. To sign up, email golf@thehopealliance.org or call (801) 952-0400.

5k and Fun Run

The third annual Cinco de Mayo 5k and Fun Run, an event cohosted by Mountain Trails and The Colby School, is this Saturday, May 16. The race starts at 10:30 a.m. at The Colby School, 3770 Hwy 224. The course will follow the McLeod Creek Trail for 3.1 miles to Willow Creek Park and back. Plan to stay for the Cinco de Mayo lunch and fiesta after the run. Registration is $35 from 9 to 10 a.m. the day of the race.

Lifeguard certification

The Park City Racquet Club is offering an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Course. The start date is May 20 and the cost is $125. For more information or to sign up, contact Tate at 615-5418.

Guided hikes

Basin Recreation is offering guided hikes on its vast trail system. These are free and geared to those who want to exercise in a group setting and/or learn more about the hidden trails in the basin. The hikes will last 1 to 2 hours depending on location and are for beginner to intermediate individuals. Please leave your pets at home. The next hike is Tuesday, May 19, meeting at 6 p.m. at the Gorgoza Pond parking lot. Please dress in weather-appropriate clothing, good hiking shoes and bring some water. Men’s Soccer fundraiser

The Park City Men’s Soccer Team will host an all-you-can-eat pizza fundraiser on Thursday, May 21, starting at 6 p.m. at Maxwell’s East Coast Eatery, 1456 New Park Blvd. The event will feature drawing prizes, music, dancing, pizza and a cash bar. All donations will benefit the Park City Men’s Soccer Team and go toward player scholarships, referee and tournament fees, uniforms and equipment. Everyone is invited.
